This policy explains what data the Audio & Voice Recorder Chrome extension (“the extension”, “we”) collects and how it is used.
Your recordings
Audio is captured and encoded entirely on your device and saved to your computer through the browser’s downloads. Recordings are never uploaded to our servers or shared with anyone.
Google Sign-In
Signing in is optional and is used only to link a purchase to your account, so it can be restored after reinstalling the extension or on another computer. When you sign in with Google we receive your email address, name, profile picture and Google account ID. We store your email address on our server together with your purchase status. Your name and picture are only shown in the extension settings and are stored locally in your browser.
Purchases
Payments are processed by Payonline and the payment providers it works with. Card details are entered on the payment provider’s page and never reach us. From Payonline we receive the order ID, the email entered at checkout, the amount and the payment status, and we store the order ID and email to grant access. Buyers from our previous payment system (Stripe) are kept on record by email so that their purchase remains valid.
Usage analytics
To improve the extension we collect anonymous usage events with PostHog and Google Analytics: for example, the extension being installed, the popup being opened, buttons being clicked, the recording type and duration. If you are signed in, these events are associated with your Google account ID and email address. The content of your recordings is never included.
Data stored in your browser
The extension keeps its settings (recording type, file format), the number of free recordings left, your purchase status and your sign-in session in the browser’s extension storage. Removing the extension deletes this data.
How we share data
We do not sell your data. Data is shared only with the services listed above (Google, Payonline and its payment providers, PostHog, Google Analytics) to the extent needed for them to work.
Retention and deletion
Purchase records are kept for as long as the purchase is valid, so that access can be restored. You can ask us to delete your data at any time by writing to zhernokleew2004@gmail.com; note that after deletion we will no longer be able to restore your purchase.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
